Requested to revisit an earlier attempt to gain higher education accreditation for their recruit training, it became an added challenge in my own time whilst preparing a revised Recruit Training programme. Two years later the Seychelles University Diploma was eventually secured through the SQA.

Following my fellow military trainers, I gained a foothold but only managed to pull myself up as far as the gunwales. I then had to be unceremoniously dragged the rest of the way and over the deck wall by my younger and fitter colleagues."
